Maybe not a billion machines, but The Billion Dollar Code is a festival of SGI appearances including the Indigo2, Indy, O2, Onyx and Origin 2000. It also as space for a couple of Apple machines: the Macbook Pro and Powerbook G3. And finally, I missed a couple of SGI machines in Breach: the Challenge and Origin 2000.

All of these machines are making their first Starring-the-Computer appearance. The CTC Datapoint 2200 plays in important role in Things To Come, the Wang 600 appears in Used Cars and there is a DEC PDP-8/A in the "Elementary" episode Give Me the Finger (along with an Apple Macintosh SE and a couple of Tandy TRS-80 Model 4s).

Here's a spooky collection for Halloween. Vampire's Kiss gives us our first Minolta PCW-1. I missed a IBM Displaywriter in From Beyond, and there's a Coleco Adam keyboard in Nightmare Weekend. Wes Craven's New Nightmare has a IBM PS/2 Model 30/55 and then there are a couple of Apples: the Macbook Pro in Vampire Acadamy and the Macintosh II/IIx in Grave Secrets.

Here are a number of TV appearances for the Raspberry Pi: the "Shakespeare & Hathaway" episode Beware the Ides of March, the "CSI: Cyber" episode CMND:Crash, the "Lost in Space" episode Danger, Will Robinson, the "Person of Interest" episode Liberty and the "Sense8" episode Just Turn the Wheel and the Future Changes.

The Compaq Contura 4/25cx appears in Erin Brockovich and The American President, along with an Apple Powerbook 540c. There are more Apples with the Powerbook G4 in Role Models, the Macbook Air in Solitary Man and the Macbook in The Twilight Saga: New Moon, along with a Panasonic Toughbook. The "30 Rock" episode Into the Crevasse has some shots of a Lenovo ThinkPad W500 and the second episode of Bugs has a Zenith Supersport.

Here is a collection on appearances from Australian television. The Stake-out episode of "The Girl from Tomorrow" has an Amstrad PPC 640. Infinity Limited has an Atari 400 in Compute the Loops and an Atari 800 in most episodes. There is an Apple Powerbook G4 in Episode 5 and a Macintosh Classic in Episode 8 of the first season of "Snobs". "Parallax" has an Apple eMac in The Artful Dodger. Making its Starring-the-Computer debut, the Toshiba T4900CT appears in several episodes of the first season of Water Rats, and an Apple Powerbook 540c appears in episode 7.

Here is a collection of appearances of 1980s business-oriented computers. We start with machine making its Starring-the-Computer debut - the IBM System/23 Datamaster appears in an episode of Blindspot. Then there is a collection of DEC Rainbow 100s in the "Pose" episode Giving and Receiving, a pair of Olivetti M20s appear in the "Tales from the Crypt" episode My Brother's Keeper and an Apple III appears in many episodes of Matt Houston.

There is a Commodore 64 in Tank Girl and in the Bill's Wedding episode of "The Goldbergs" and a Commodore 64C makes a brief appearance in The Princess Bride.
2021-08-08 18:04 A Cassiopeia and some Apples
Ghost World features the Apple iMac G3, Power Macintosh 8100, Powerbook G3 and, making its Starring-the-Computer debut, the Casio Cassiopeia E11. Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed has a small part for an Apple Macintosh and a Powerbook Duo plays an important role in A Knight in Camelot. There are also Apple computers of several episodes of "Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction": the Apple Powerbook 1400 appears in The Diary and Blood Donor, there's an Apple Macintosh Quadra 630 in Email II and a Macintosh Classic makes an appearance in Precious.

There are a number of laptops in season one of "Alex Rider". Episode 1 has an Apple Macbook Air and a Macbook Pro and episode 3 has a Macbook. Also, there is a Panasonic Toughbook CF-33 in episode 5.

The television series The Net (based on the movie of the name name) is certainly not the best ever, but it does offer some entries for the site. Angela's primary laptop varies through the season, starting with a Toshiba Libretto 50CT/70CT and later using a Sony Vaio 700 series - both of which make their debut appearance. There are then brief appearances of an Apple Power Macintosh in Deleted, a Twentieth Anniversary Macintosh in Y2K: Total System Failure and an IBM Thinkpad 760 in Harvest.

This update adds appearances of old Toshiba laptops. Amateur has a T1000SE and Darkman II: The Return of Durant a T4800C. Then there are two machines making their first appearance on the site: a Toshiba T3200 in Medicine Man and a Toshiba T2400CS in the "Bugs" episode Down Among the Dead Men.

Here is a small collection of PCs. The Computer Games episode of "The Girl from Tomorrow" has an IBM PC XT and you can just about make out an IBM PS/2 in The Abyss. There's an Amstrad PC 2086 in The Full Monty. And finally there are two machines making their Starring-the-Computer debut: The Compaq Deskpro 4000 in Eagle vs Shark and the MSI Concerto III in The World Is Not Enough.

Stranger Strings is a rather ropey Stranger Things spoof created for a Java conference, but it's full of Starring-the-Computer delights! There is an Atari Mega ST2, an IBM PC XT, a pair of IBM Portable Personal Computers and an Osborne 1. Additionally, two machines make their Starring-the-Computer debut: the ICL PERQ 1, and the Norsk Data Nord-10/S.
