2015-09-13 21:20 TI a Sperry Ribbon
Another couple of machines make their Starring-the-Computer debut. The first is the Sperry UNIVAC 1106, which makes an appearance in Man on a Punched Card (an episode of The Immortal). The second is a little controversial! I don't include terminals on Starring the Computer, but the Texas Instruments Model 770 Intelligent Terminal has so many computer-like features that I've decided to include it. It appears in Complex (an episode of the New Avengers). Thanks very much to James and Pete respectively for tipping me off about these.

Smarkus and Company has a pivotal role for an Apple II and the Inspector Morse episode Ghost in the Machine has a few brief sightings of an IBM PS/2 Model 30/55. Then there are a couple of machines making their Starring-the-Computer debit: the Apple Powerbook 165c in The Seventh Floor and the Olivetti M15 in the first episode of The New Statesman.
2015-03-07 00:08 Fresh SAGE
Rock Jocks is, to my knowledge, the most recent film to include the venerable IBM AN-FSQ7 in addition to a little bunch of Apples: a Apple II, a pair of Macintosh SEs and a Macbook Pro.
2015-01-17 01:06 Atari Delusion
The 1991 film Delusion has a few shot of Atari systems including a Atari STE and a Atari STacy - a much rarer find.
2015-01-03 00:46 New Year, new computer (a very old one, actually)
Starting the new year in style... In a debut (and likely unique) appearance there are excellent shots of the IBM Selective Sequence Electronic Calculator in the 1952 film Walk East on Beacon!. As with several other early features here, this represents some of the best imagery of this machine that still exists. Thanks very much to Allan for the tip off on this one.
2014-11-17 00:52 The IBM of the Apes
Thanks to Mark for spotting another appearance for the IBM AN/FSQ-7, this time in an episode of the Planet of the Apes TV series called The Legacy (it comes with its ubiquitous companion, the Burroughs B205 tape drive).

The genuinely terrible film Raise the Titanic has a small but vital role for a Starring-the-Computer newcomer: the HP 9845.
2014-06-07 16:54 Stay Cool - It's an Update!
Well it's been ages since the last update as I've been struggling to find the time. Now though, I'm really going to try to get in at least one update a week, even if it's only one film. Stay Cool is a bit of an Apple-fest, featuring a Macbook Air, an Aluminum iMac and a Macintosh Plus.
