2013-03-06 22:07 The Smell of Tweet Success?
I've just set up a new Twitter account for Starring the Computer: @StarringTheComp. One of the things I plan to use it for is posting pictures of computers in films that I have been unable to recognise. I have the help page too, but I hope that this will be a quick and easy way of getting extra eyes looking at and identifying the mystery machines. I've already posted the first picture, so please have a look and see if you recognise it!

Point of No Return (also known as The Assassin) has a number of Apple Macintosh IIcx or IIcis, one in an important role.

Dance Me to My Song has an Epson HX-20 in a vital role, whereas it is just bit parts for the Apple Clamshell iBook G3 in Coyote Ugly and the IBM PC XT and Apple IIe in Poltergeist III. This will be the only update this month as I'm about to go on holiday.
2012-12-23 20:32 Festive Update
Merry Christmas! Every Thing You Always Wanted to Know About Sex * But Were Afraid to Ask has an IBM AN/FSQ-7 in an unlikely but important role. The IBM System/360 in The Brain Machine has an equally important role. There is a Commodore 64C in Adventures in Babysitting and an HP Vectra in Honey, I Shrunk the Kids. And then there are the inevitable Apples: a Power Mac G4 Cube and an iMac G3 in About A Boy and a Powerbook G4 in Uptown Girls

2012-11-03 21:46 An Update!
First update in over a month, with hopefully more to come soon. The snappily titled The Return of the Man from U.N.C.L.E.: The Fifteen Years Later Affair has a brief appearance for a rather fetching polished silver Commodore PET 2001.
2012-10-17 21:14 Starring the Computer gets Wired
Along with Mike Loewen's site on the AN/FSQ-7, Starring the Computer gets a mention in The Most Wonderfully Ridiculous Movie Computers of All Time on Wired. Unfortunately, I'm in the middle of moving house at the moment so I've no time to be doing updates to the site. So, all you Wired readers, welcome and stick around: there will be plenty of updates in weeks to come!
2012-09-26 21:35 An Aged Pair
Another couple of appearances from two aged computers have been added - an IBM AN/FSQ-7 in Sliders (Season 3, Episode 3) and a Honeywell H200 in Sweet, Sweet Rachel.
2012-09-14 11:59 Daryl's second helping
The Atari 600XL in D.A.R.Y.L. has been in the database for ages, but I've just added a few more computers that appear in the film, including Apple IIes, Tektronix 4051s and, making its debut, a DEC VAX 11/750.
2012-09-07 21:43 Apple Computers are like busses...
No updates for ages, sorry! I've been spending some time rewriting the code for the web site. No particularly visible changes yet, but more to come hopefully. The Mystery Begins, Sleeping Beauty, The Descendants, Kick-Ass, Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol (which also debuts a Dell PowerEdge 2650), and Wind (which also has a HELP[windmac, Mac-like] machine and a HELP[windlap, laptop] that I've not been able to identify).
