Charly (1968)
When Charly discovers that his new intelligence is only temporary he joins the university research group to try to prolong it. In doing so he programmes an IBM 7094.
The 7090 was transistorized version of the earlier tube-based 709. The first installation was in 1959 and the computer was popular for its time, particularly in scientific applications.

Group Captain Lionel Mandrake uses the IBM on the base and finds the last remaining radio in its 1403 printer from which discovers the Brigadier General's duplicity.
It probably should have been a SAGE system for authenticity, but that would not have been available at the time as the system was in active use then.
The IBM 7090 is brought into NASA's Langley research centre to do orbital calculations. At first, the ladies fear that it might put them out of a job but then they learn how to program the machine.
