I've seen this movie about a jillion times. Believe me, she's using a PowerBook G3, not a 3400. I'll post some screenshots if necessary.

Do we see any cables or modems in this movie? Surely they wouldn't be using fully wireless internet connected laptops back then?

I remember seeing this page a while back then we just watched the movie again tonight for the first time in 20 years. It's the G3 Kanga and not the 3400c, although they did share the exact same chassis so it's easy to confuse. The key differentiator is the badge on the bottom right LCD bezel: PowerBook G3 and not PowerBook 3400.
