Apple II
Henry enlists the help of a journalist who owns an Apple II. In order to avoid being killed by le Pouvoir, he later used the machine to implant all he knows about the affair into several computers to be released on his death.
Henry Jay is a middle-ranking civil servant who, after producing a report on computer-assisted fraud, finds himself involved in conspiracy at the highest levels controlled by le Pouvoir — "The Power".

The saleswoman at the computer shop checks pricing and delivery details about the Sharp computer Henry is buying, and later is able to give Henry's details to the police.
Forced into hiding, Henry buys a PC-3101 and, holed up in a bedsit, uses it to hack into computers systems to get information about a contact.
