Young computer hacker Anya investigates Crooksnatchers, a security company that fits alarms that are later used to make homeowners believe they are haunted and sell their houses at knock down price. The system is the invention of Harlan, who believes it to be used for good not knowing the use his nefarious uncle is putting it to.

Anya uses a Commodore 128 to investigate Crooksnatchers. Harlan also uses one to try to repel Anya's hacking attempts and they later use them to communicate with each other.

Anya and Harlan each have Amiga 1000s on their desks, but they go unused
