Memotech MTX 512 in Weird Science (1985)
Wyatt uses the Memotech (with FDX add-on) to build a model girlfriend which, after hacking into the Pentagon to get more power, is used to generate Lisa.
Even suspending disbelief about the creating girlfriends thing, the graphics shown are much better than the Memotech was capable of.

Actually your comment about suspending disbelief is off the mark, the memotech was unusual in that you could get a very high resolution video board for it that was designed for scientific, and AV work, when the Memotech company folded the video technology was saved and used to develop video walls. the resolution and graphic power of the HRX board was better than was available from grapic workstations at the time this may be the reason the memotech was used in the movie

I knew it! I had a picture of a frame from Weird Science, just showing part of the keyboard (logo mostly cut off) and I always wanted to find out what keyboard that was. I just looked at a Memotech keyboard picture and noticed a similarity - and saw how the letters line up with the cut off logo in the screenshot I have. I could have saved myself the trouble and just checked here. It's a very nice looking keyboard. I wish I could find one.

on the movie they used Wyatt's computer but back in the 80's there was no internet. so you have a computer to make a girl just no internet. if this movie was remade today the guys would have a faster computer to make there girl with the internet.

Awesome features for a mid-80s 8-bit computer! Lessee...most MTXs were 64K or 128K, and could be brought up to 512K with the expansion unit. Even the most souped-up MTX couldn't handle the graphics and instructions to begin to design and fabricate 'Lisa'.

That montage when they were making Lisa. What were they doing when they hacked into the government facility? What did that have to do with designing a girl?

They set up an office in the U.S. and were going to sell it here but it never got anywhere for some reason.

Not mentioned here is the big "ENTER" key with dramatic blinking red LEDs added to the MTX for the big "Wyatt pushes the button" closeup. (The original MTX keyboard had a smallish "RETURN" or "RET" key, no LEDs.)
