BTW... That's a Western Electric 600 Series Automatic Card Dial AT&T Telephone. The top held 'Mini Punch Cards' that were inserted into the slot above the Dial. You pushed the button below the slot and it dialed the number for you. This sounds very lazy but it was a security feature. Any Student Intern working at 3 am, when faced with an emergency, could grab a card and dial a Hotline [The President of the USA, CIA, FBI, the CEO of the Company's private home number, etc] and not have access to the actual phone number.
NB: Yes, I was the Student Intern.
